Where Past and Present Converge
The Exhibition Hall opens for the season May 15th. Welcoming visitors to explore Base31’s history and stories.
Step inside a historic Second World War–era hangar and journey through the many chapters of our site's remarkable story—from its role in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan and the Aerodrome of Democracy, to its evolving presence today. The Exhibition Hall brings the past to life through immersive storytelling, sharing personal accounts, artifacts, and objects that reveal the people and communities shaped by this place. Discover Canada’s contribution to the fight against tyranny and the pursuit of democratic freedom, and witness how local and global stories intersect.
Stand beneath Lancaster KB 882, one of only 17 remaining in the world, and experience history up close. Rotating exhibitions, multimedia displays, and interactive experiences make the Hall a living space where past, present, and community converge.
