History,
Art & Shops
Where past and present share the same ground. Explore historic spaces, contemporary work, and on-site shops across the District.
Exhibition Hall
The Exhibition Hall opens for the season May 15th. Welcoming visitors to explore Base31’s history and stories.
Step inside a transformed WWII aircraft hangar and uncover the story of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, Base31’s role along the Avro Arrow Trail, and the legendary Lancaster Bomber KB 882 — one of only 17 remaining in the world.
Each studio and shop at reflects the creative pulse of the County, blending craft, design, and story inside spaces that once trained airmen and now support makers.
MELT STUDIO + GALLERY
A creative space within the District dedicated to contemporary work and craft, the gallery showcases rotating exhibitions and features work by artists and makers connected to the region and beyond. Step inside to explore what’s currently on view and discover pieces that reflect the creative energy of the site.
Many of the artists and retailers here work on-site, making the District part studio, part storefront. That means you’re not just buying something beautiful, you’re stepping into the process behind it.
Tour the grounds
Explore 70 acres of history your way. Tour at your own pace with a map and audio headset, available to book day-of in the Exhibition Hall.
