An Evening of Remembrance
Remembrance
Join us at Base31’s Exhibition Hall on November 10 for a quiet evening of remembrance. Take in the glowing community-created luminaries as we pause together to reflect, remember and honour those who served.
At 4:47 p.m. when the sun sets, all of the luminaries will be illuminated, creating an evening of quiet remembrance. The community is invited to pause together, reflect, remember, and honour those who served. The luminaries will remain lit throughout the night until morning.

A Place to Remember
Join us on November 10 for a quiet evening of remembrance at Base31, surrounded by tributes created by our community.
In the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day, visitors are invited to dedicate a Luminary in honour or memory of someone who served. Dedications can recognize a family member, ancestor, friend or another individual, living or deceased. Luminaries are available for a minimum contribution of $5 in the Exhibition Hall, with proceeds donated to the Royal Canadian Legion in Picton, Wellingston and Consecon.
The luminaries will be placed around the Lancaster inside the Exhibition Hall. At 4:47 p.m., as the sun sets over Prince Edward County, the luminaries will be lit and remain illuminated through the night, a reflection of the words of Laurence Binyon’s For the Fallen:
“At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
Guests are invited to walk through the Exhibition Hall, read the names, and spend a quiet moment reflecting on the people and stories represented by these tributes.
There is no formal performance or traditional event program, simply a welcoming space to gather, reflect, remember and honour those who served.
The luminaries will remain on display through Remembrance Day on November 11, joining the Lancaster as a memorial created by our community.
