Just as in the Buddhist concept that everything is impermanent, the kaleidoscope can be seen as a metaphor for life. It thus offers an image that reconciles the seemingly opposing notions of permanence and change. In a way, it expresses the rhythm of our lives, shifting from a passive, stable state to an active, ever-changing one.
Each rotation of the kaleidoscope reveals a unique arrangement of colors and shapes, offering a constantly renewed visual experience. Rather than fearing change, we can embrace it as a constant source of renewal and discovery. Similarly, in our lives, constant change can bring new perspectives and unexpected opportunities: new encounters, new jobs, new technologies.
Just as the fragments inside the kaleidoscope retain their essence even when rearranged, our own identity persists through transformations. Every evolution, every experience slightly alters our perception of the world, yet we remain fundamentally ourselves.
Thus, viewing beauty through a kaleidoscope is also a way of seeing life: we must take the time to pause in order to appreciate its richness and complexity.
